I don't know if I'm not searching enough but I seldom see a sports-themed digi-scrap kit so I made one for you. This one is a mixed sports Scrap kit. I hope you like it.

BTW, about the supposedly missing "K" in the alpha (the round one) of the Space Adventure kit, it's actually a letter K not H, if you will compare, H & K, the letter K has a small slit/groove at the right side of the letter. Thank you so much for all your emails and concerns.

I noticed that I made a mistake with the "Space Adventure" TOU, it says "Puppy Love" at the top so kindly download the "Extra" and replace the one in your folder.

I'm still Alive and You have a New Year's Gift

I was MIA, we spent our Christmas break at the province since December 24th and we only came home last January 3. Yes, it was a long vacation. I thought I would be able to post before we go but my hands was so full with a lot of things. Anyway, there's no internet in my husband's place and in our place--can you imagine that!--my Mom and his parents respective homes do not even have a landline. They both used to have landlines but since the cellphone era arrived and the landline seldom rings--they both gave them up a few years back, LOL.

Anyway, we're home now but we're having problem with our internet connection. I thought it has something to do with our network provider. The connection is being cut every three to five minutes. I can't stay at the internet long to upload. In fact, I have started with this post since yesterday (as you can see with the date of post). I was set to call and complain about it with our internet provider's customer service. I was truly exasperated the past days. As you know when someone is annoyed, yelling to the other person on the line is inevitable. But I learned a long time ago that the only time ago that I the only time I should procrastinate is when I'm at the height of anger and is about to blurt out hurtful words. My husband has an out of town work assignment and when he came back last night (Friday), he checked it and found out that the problem was with our wi-fi. So, we're going to buy a new one tomorrow--the cheapest brand this time, since our current one is a little expensive but it didn't last for so long.

I will upload this new kit--Sports Unlimited--as soon as possible--hopefully on Monday. But I have a New Year's gift for members, so scroll down to get it.

The wait is over...Puppy Love & Summer Sweeties Kits

Thanks you so much for your understanding and patience. Before I give you the kits, here are me updates from me:

1. During the last few weeks, I've been contemplating in looking for a site where I can put my kits. 4shared seemed to be giving me a problem with so many invalid links whenever my files reach more than 50% of the allotted storage. Early this year I both a silver plan in 4shared (see my ramblings about it here here ). I sent an email to 4shared and they replied (you can read it Here ).

I think they realized the loophole in their plan, maybe I was not the only one who complained. Now, they removed the silver, gold and platinum plan, they now have a premium plan giving you 100 GB of both storage and bandwidth. I guess it's a better plan so I purchased and will try it for one month. If it works good then I'll stick with 4shared.

2. With my 4shared premium plan, I can embed the download links here, so downloading will be easier for you--direct links and no waiting time (let's see how long that 100 bandwidth per month will last, the former 5 GB bandwidth that I purchased is only good for a few days).

3. We still have power interruptions from time to time. Yesterday and today, we had no electricity for a several hours. I've now been so used in using a fan to cool myself because it's so humid/hot here. That's why when the electricity had resumed at around midnight, I'm still fanning myself. And then I thought, I should have turned either the aircon or the electric fan, LOL.

4. In some areas in our place, there are still floods but it's not as high as before...and yes no electricity as well. The new typhoon named Pepeng (international codename "Parma") which landed in our country last Saturday doesn't want to leave our country. As of today it has it's 3rd landfall--it can't leave because another typhoon, named "Quedan" (international codename: Melor), is preventing it from leaving, . It is expected to stay in the country for three more days. Can you imagine a storm that lasts for more than a week? The affected area for that typhoon is where my Mom and my sister's family lives.

5. With all the things that I have witnessed these past two weeks--seeing expensive cars, houses, appliances and furniture sinking in water--I realized the things that are more valuable such as cultivating one's character, building relationships and harnessing God-given talents--such can never sink in floods in an instant. DH and I had been affirmed of our values too--investing our treasures in heaven--to know Christ and to make Him known. I'm not saying that material gain is bad but if you will but all your heart into it, you will really be left with nothing when tragedy such as this strikes.

Just an Update from Me and your Kits...

I have been MIA for a while. Have you heard about the typhoon which recently left a huge damage in our country, particularly in our place in Metro Manila? It's called Ondoy here but the international name is Typhoon Ketsana. I have been having problems with 4shared since last week. I was supposed to upload your kits but there are a lot of invalid links in my account that I need to re-upload. I noticed that if my files in 4shared reach more than 50% of the allotted 5 GB, many links will be invalid. To think that I have paid subscription at 4shared early this year. Yes, mine is not the free stuff.

Anyway, I was supposed to upload everything last Saturday (Sept 26). I know there's a storm/typhoon but it was only signal #1 in Metro Manila. In our country, typhoons are very common especially from June to November. The name of the typhoon is Ondoy. Since, it starts with letter "O", that means it's the 15th typhoon that hit the country since January 2009. Typhoon is very common and expected during this season. Life goes on for us for signal #1 storm, there are still offices and classes for college students. We're so used with heavy rainfall and a "little" flood.

Last Saturday, Mike and I woke up late (well, it's normal for us to wake up between 9-10 am as we also sleep late). We had a great sleep, it rained overnight. Mike loves it when it rains. On Saturday morning, we noticed as we stepped on the floor that it's wet. We lived on the second floor and we've been used on having those water on our floor that sipped through the walls when there's a heavy downpour. But this time, the water nearly filled our pail. I was a little bit complaining since we haven't had our breakfast yet and there we were attending to our wet floor.

I turned on the computer and told my husband that I will upload files the whole day. I prepared breakfast and continued my ramblings until my husband unfurled the curtains and saw that the water in our neighbors' place (from the other subdivision) was already up to my knees based on our estimate. It still didn't bother me as I thought, when the rain stop in the afternoon, it will subside. Before, we had our breakfast, I tried to connect to the internet so that there's an uploading going on while we're eating but it always failed. So, we just had our breakfast. I told my husband to just hibernate the computer as I will try to connect at the internet after we had our breakfast. When I went back, I still can't connect at the internet, so I just decided to call our clubhouse bistro to order our food for lunch but I thought the line is being cut, so I asked my husband to check our telephone line and it's so funny, he said: "Honey, there's no dial tone, didn't you notice? That's the reason you cannot connect with the internet" LOL, I really didn't notice, my mind is still conditioned that everything was doing fine that day.

So, first it was the telephone, then, the electricity was next and then, there's no water supply. It went on from Saturday to Wednesday. But our landline has only been resumed only this morning (Friday). There's still a lot of things that happened during that time but our internet connection is being disconnected every 5 minutes, so I'll tell the other stories some other time.

Just to give you an idea on what our vicinity looked like last Sunday morning, my husband and I took a lot of pictures and here are some of them.

This was taken at around 6:00-6:30 am, Sunday morning. Mike and I went to the rooftop (at the fifth floor--we lived in a mid-rise condominium to see how our neighborhood looked like. The water was brown because there was a landslide in the nearby towns of Antipolo and Morong (that's the mountainous side) and it was filled with mud. There were vehicles on the street which you cannot see in this picture because they were submerged in water.

There were also a lot of people who stayed overnight on the roof, especially those who didn't have a second floor. Our unit was on the second floor so except for the "little" water on the floor (compared to this) that I used to complain about plus the "no water, landline, electricity and food thingy", we're still so blessed. We were supposed to have our weekly grocery that day and I'm not really into processed foods that's why we starved a little since we didn't have any canned goods. But all in all, we're still doing great compared to our neighbors.

This photo says it all. Have you noticed the cabinet? The clothes are still neatly folded. We have friends in this area and until now, they are still submerged in knee-deep water.

OK, let's go back to you kits, one of the kits that I was supposed to upload last Saturday was very ironic to my situation as it is called "Summer Sweeties" hahaha, you read that right. I know most of you are from the West and you just had your summer and I'm sure you have a lot of photos on the beach to scrap. That's why I decided to make a summer/beach kit. So while we are experiencing heavy rain and flood in this part of the world, you're still savoring the memories you had during your summer, LOL. You will laugh with the other with the other kit for the month of September because it also depicts a situation that was very contradictory to our condition during that time, LOL.

I still don't know when will the kits be up as the internet connection is not doing well at this time. I just want to assure you that your kits are safe from the floods. I will post as soon as I can. I have tons of emails to answer and a lot of things to clean up. So please, just be patient. Thank you so much for your understanding. There's another typhoon coming this Saturday, Typhoon Peping, so if I were not able to post again, please be assured that I'll give your kits as soon as I can. Kindly bear with me a little bit more.

Baby Love Digi-Scrap Kit and Bragbook Freebies

This kit has taken me longer to upload, I thought there's a problem with 4shared, my computer or the internet connection. Well, after several days, I tried to change browser (from firefox to internet explorer) and voila! the files were uploaded in no time--why didn't I think of that last week?

I want to share with you the layout that I made using this kit. My niece is going to celebrate her 7th birthday on August 16, so this kit is for her. Young as she is, she's already an accomplished swimmer, violinist and a karate kid. I took these pictures of her when we visited them in the US last May. I used a wordart from dranet in this layout.

Leigh & Latrize Bragbook Sets

Last December, I made a bragbook set for my niece, Latrize, as my Christmas present to her. I have given that bragbook set to magicmaker-scraps members as a bonus and I also promised that I will make another one for your little boys. The reason for the delay of the "boy" set is because there aren't so much "boy" tubes out there. I've joined several tube membership clubs just to have enough male gumdrops, LOL.

Since, it's a promise and I haven't forgotten it, LOL, I'm giving the Leigh Bragbook Set to previous members and to new members as well. I'm also giving the Latrize bragbook to new members since it will be useless to only have one set--for girls or for boys only.

The lady I was sitting with at the airplane when we came home to the Philippines showed me her bracelet with 15 heart charms in it. Each charm has the name of her grandchildren along with their birthdays. As I told you before, you can also make that to these bragbook pages. You can put the picture of your children, grandchild, or godchildren (would you believe, I have more than 20 godchildren) in them and put their names and birthdays as well. There's enough page at the bottom of each page to write those stuff. Voila! you have an instant album of your dear grand kids with their birthdays--so you won't forget. Now, you have BB pages for both boys and girls. They also come in both portrait and landscape orientation.

This kit was inspired by a color palette that I've done with Ang Larue's color challenge. We're only required to make six elements and 3 papers but I fell in love with the colors and I made an entire kit with it.

I decided to make a welcome bonus kit every month and those who will join during the month of July will get this kit. "Lovely Snowy" Kit and a Sampler Freebie

It's been a while. I'm out of the country right now and it's really a blessing to have this kit up. After a few weeks of adjustment in weather, time zone, and routine...I'm so glad, I'm back. Anyway, here's the last series for the princesses kit. You already have Cinderella (Cinder Weds) and Sleeping Beauty (Aurora in Love); finally, Snow White (Lovely Snowy) is here.

I think, Snow White is lovely here, but can you believe, DH said that I made an ugly Snow White--she's so pale, LOL. Of course, I made her pale to make her complexion as white as snow--that's why she's called Snow White, right? I usually take my husband's criticism in my work so seriously but this time, I want to keep my Snowy in this kit (besides, my "layered" Snowy was left in the Philippines).

"Aurora in Love" Kit and a Sampler Freebie

I'm back with another kit, If you have read my other blog (fairydustprincess-magicmaker ) you probably know that I have some sort of an issue with 4shared. I'm slowly migrating my freebie files to the free account and the membership kits/files in a paid account so that you'll enjoy an ads-free and direct download. However, that would resume next month. My bandwidth allocation has exceeded since there were so many downloads for my freebies that used up my paid account features. I thought I would not be able to upload this kit until next month, I emailed 4shared and they replied that I can still upload my files and you can still download. However, it's back to the usual (with ads and with waiting time).

Anyway, it's my second consecutive valentine without my husband by my side. He's in Russia right now; last year he was in Qatar. So, "Aurora in Love" is my second set of Fairytale Princesses (Cinder Weds is the first). It also goes well with Cinder's Wish Papers and Elements. I was supposed to include a sleeping Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) but I guess, she won't be in-love if she's asleep so I have to wake her up because it's valentines day, LOL.

I hope you like this one. I had a great time making the oval frame. It's 10 inches tall with lovely roses in it.

Anything Goes Commercial Use Kit and Altered photo background/cluster border freebie

Hurray! It's my birthday today and you're the one you'll get the gifts, LOL. Yup, I have a kit for you (magicmaker-scraps members) and a magical background/cluster border for everybody.

Since I'm 35 now, I have here 35 different kinds of commercial use items that I have photographed and extracted, it has no theme or whatsoever...that's why it's called "Anything Goes". I have already used some of the items here before in my QPs with a Twist, now you can have them as individual/unmerged files. I hope you'll be able to use one or two of them in your kits or layouts.

Now, for the freebie. Last week, I tried to make a background as I was thinking of printing a shirt with my nieces' photos on them and give the shirts to them. It seems like these T-shirts are very "in" nowadays.

Anyway, here are some of my sample layouts, as you can see my fairies that I have given as freebies in my other blog at fairydustprincess-magicmaker is in the LO. You can get those fairies there. My nieces were still small in this altered art. This was taken ten years ago.

Here's another rendition, this time it's a more recent photo. Yes, the little girl on the left (above) has already grown up and this is one of her latest photos.

I really love this background but I was thinking if you would want to put your own background into it. Or how about changing it's orientation (from landscape to portrait). to solve that, I made it into a cluster border and voila, I have another sample LO.

It's our wedding photo with one of the scenic pictures that Mike has photographed. Did I tell you my DH is a hobbyist photographer? The wordart is from dittersfreedoodles.

By the way, the width of the border is ten inches, so you may want to resize it to eight inches (for 8x10) or five or seven inches (for 5x7) prints.

Cinder's Wish, Cinder's Dream, and My Little Prince Kit

I don't know if there are still among you (magicmaker-scraps members) who haven't downloaded these three fairytale kits that I have given away as a freebie at fairydustprincess-magicmaker blog. "Cinder's Dream" had more than 1,500 downloads when I removed the download link. Then, somebody has re-uploaded it at 4shared and I was surprise that it still has several downloads even if I wasn't the one who uploaded it (somebody has pirated my stuff...grrrr...)

Now, I'm giving the link back but only to magicmaker-scraps members. I love making kits and QPs but I realized it is better to give them exclussively to magicmaker-scraps members to avoid piracy...so far my members are all behaved. Thank God.

Last Christmas, I decided to make personalize bragbooks (bind in spirals) for my nieces...which I wasn't able to print/give because of what happened to me.

I have so many pictures of one of my nieces named Latrize in different get-ups. Indeed she looks like a doll in different costumes. Some were taken by me and other were sent to me by her Mom thru email. It was her ballet and Hawaiian/Hula recital that inspired me to make these bragbook layouts/bragbook QPs. Here are samples of the layouts I've done with Latrize. As you can see in some pictures she's still so small. I actually made more than ten bragbook pages for her. And I guess, I will also give away the other pages later...as the other ones are holiday-themed bragbook (Christmas, etc).

I originally made them in "landscape" orientation. But, I don't want to cut her feet as she's doing her ballet and Hawaiian dance, so I transformed everything into "portrait" and you'll get both orientation.

Girls love to dress-up and in other countries, they have halloween and I see in different blogs how cute in the little girls are in their costumes. Since we don't have halloween here, I'm glad Latrize has so many photos where she's wearing costume for their school program and recitals. She even have a photo where she's in mermaid attire.

Anyway, most of you who are members of magicmaker-scraps are grandmothers, so I guess this will be perfect to have one page for all your grandkids...don't forget to put their names and birthdates on the pages so that you'll always remember to greet them "happy birthday"--there's enough space at the bottom of the frame so you can use your chosen alpha set/fonts for their names. You can bind them together and bring them everywhere to brag to your friends, LOL. I'll try to look at my files for some boy gumdrop tubes so that your little boys will also have pages in your bragbook too.

I do not know what to call this bragbook set, so I just called it Latrize, named after my niece.

"The Magnificent 2008 Part 2" QPs with a Twist and QP Freebies

Finally, the second part of the "The Magnificent 2008" is here...though it's already 2009, LOL. Thank you for your patience. I really tried to finish it before the year ends but I really couldn't do it.

Last December, I emailed you (magicmaker-scraps members) about my condition and most of you have sent me good wishes. In fact, one of you (I hope Margaret wouldn't mind if I mention her name--how very sweet of her to do that) even sent me an LO/card with my picture in it using items that I have designed. I'm so deeply touched with her gesture and I always look at that LO whenever I'm sad... Sad? It's because the reason for my happiness at that moment has gone too soon.

My friend Lynette has already blogged about it, you can visit her blog at lynettesphotoart as she tells what happened to me. I still have to make my account on this matter--I have to do my obligation to you first as I'm already behind, LOL. Now, that we're done for 2008 sets (opppsss...I didn't forget "My First Book of Shapes"--you'll have it soon), I can now work on writing my testimony. As magicmaker-scraps members, you know that as much as possible I wanted to keep this matter in private that's why I just email you instead of posting it here. Though I experienced some loss, I am still an unworthy recipient of God's miracle. I'll be making an account of God's work in my life...and blog about it! As I was reading Lynette's blog awhile ago, I was convicted that this event in my life must not be kept in secret anymore...it must be told so that His name may be glorified. Lynette was able to write everything so well so I will just add some details about what happened.

"Denim for Dudes" Kit and a Sampler Freebie

Here's your first kit for December. I know I didn't do justice to the preview probably because I'm in a very difficult situation right now. But you will surely be delighted to see all the elements (which I wasn't able to show on the preview) once you start downloading. I thought I won't be able to finish this since the two button frames takes too much time to make as I manually put one button after another and I don't know how many buttons are there. I made a template for the jumper and I really love the outcome, I hope you love it too.

This kit goes well with "For My Guy" kit. You can use the belt and combine "Denim for Dudes" with the other elements and papers from that other kit if you want.

"The Magnificent 2008" QPs with a Twist and QP Freebies

The QP set for December will be of two parts. This will be composed of 24 QPs/12 spreads that is ideal for photobooks. Ten QPs of each part will be for members and the other two are given as freebie QPs for all.

Why did I call it "The Magnificent 2008"? Every year, I do layouts of each month's highlights. Last year, my title was "2007 in a Nutshell". That's the reason why, this set will have 12 spreads, one for each month. Anyway, if you are not going to use the set for compiling a year's worth of memories, you can still use it for other projects. This year, I did several photobooks as birthday and Christmas gifts. In fact, some of the pages here were inspired from those photobooks that I made.

I usually chronicle a person's life in the photobook. I scan their pictures from childhood to present, then group them as childhood days, school days, years at work/ministry, etc. And do you know what are the hardest part in making this project? It's grouping the pictures together and thinking of the entire photobook title. I'll give you sample titles of what I did: "The Chronicles of Narry" (A photobook for our dear Pastor Narry), "Vic...Through the Years" (This one is for my Father-in-Law); "A Rosy Life" (For my mother-in-law, her nickname is Rose, hence, the word "rosy" came to mind); "Life's Treasures" (for my Mom, it was supposed to be "My Heart's Treasures" because my Mom's name is "Corazon" which is translated as "heart" in spanish. I already have it printed when that title pop-out in my mind--too late to change--see, thinking of a title is really a difficult one); and "Journey" (for Pastor Luis).

In all my "QPs with a Twist Set", there's always a bonus QP (for front cover) for members which I never show in preview...it's supposed to be a surprise. But here, I'll just show it via my own photobook cover. This comes in QP and cluster border frame (paper removed so you can put your own choice of paper and add some more elements if you want).

I have here our 6th wedding anniversary and our trip to Ilocos photos which were this year's highlights in our lives.

Here's a sample of the inside pages. I chose the month of "August" to show-off my sample LO and you'll read in my journaling the reason why.

August 3 - (Opposite page, left). Showing of my new dress worn specifically for our lunch date to celebrate our wedding anniversary. (middle) It’s our 6th wedding anniversary and we're still happily married, LOL--oopppss, it's our ring fingers (with our wedding rings on) that you're seeing here. This was taken after we watched “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” at The Globe Platinum Cinema at Gateway Plaza in Cubao, Quezon City.

August 16 - ((Opposite page, right). Finally, a dream come true. I was able to watch Lea Salonga in a musical play via Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

August 30 - (above, from left to right) Mike and I enjoyed being official photographers (without pressure, LOL) during KM’s 7th birthday held at Rosewood Pointe’s Clubhaus. Charlo & Diwata were so happy for KM and for their new condo unit. And yes, I got to show-off my hand-me-down DSLR from DH.

So, you can now think about what project are you going to make for this latest QP set. I only make five spreads (10 pages) for my photobooks. So, if you're not going to use it to chronicle "2008", you can already start a complete photobook with this one without waiting for part 2. "He's My Guy" KIt and a Sampler Freebie

Here's your last kit for November. It should have been done earlier if only the Teddy Bear was in our place here in Manila. We went home to the province last weekend and I got this teddy bear, photographed and extracted it for this kit. I just thought this kit will not be complete without that furry little guy, don't you think so? This is a huge kit. There are 24 leather frames (6 rectangles w/ stitches, 6 w/o stitches, 6 squares w/ stitches and 6 w/ stitches w/o stitches). I just can't figure-out which one to include whether the square ones or the rectangles, those with or those without. So I just decided to put them all here--though they are not shown in the preview--they are all in your downloads and a lot more. I also can't decide which of the two sets of tags to include here so you'll also have both sets too.

How to Make a Calendar

Here's something that I posted in my other blog that you may find helpful in making your 2009 calendar for your personal as well as for your christimas gift and S4H projects. Last year, I made a calendar for me and my husband and have them ring binded like this:

With my cluster border calendar set, you bet, my 2009 calendar will look better. Now, what if you don't have a ring binder? I found this easy to make "a Bible calendar" in an old magazine (Woman's Day, January 5, 1999 issue) and it doesn't cost much to make this one. I just scanned it as that issue is not availble online. You can adjust the size according to your print size if you want (4x6, 5x7 or 8x10) Here it is:

Cluster Borders Set 3, Photo Cluster Border Calendar

Cluster Borders Set 3 is finally here. The Holiday Season is drawing near and I know some of you are preparing layouts for altered photo art projects to be given as gifts to your friends and loved-ones. In my case, when one of my nieces, Meg, saw the photo magnet of my other niece sitting on a mushroom (See photo cluster Set 1), she said she also wanted to sit on that mushroom like her cousin, Terri.

Meg has graced most of my fantasy and altered art layouts so much and she still wants some more, LOL, I told her, I still have to look for a suitable photo where she's also sitting in the same way. And she's so excited about it. Meanwhile when I finished this latest set (see Cluster Borders Set 3 preview below), I realized her 7th birthday photo goes well with one of the cluster borders. I added Snow White's seven dwarfs and voila! It looks great--and yes, there are mushrooms here too. How I wish I already have this cluster borders three years ago for her invitation.

Now, speaking of unique gifts for the holiday season. With more than 12 cluster borders, I'm sure you can now make your own 2009 calendar to be given to others (you can make one for yourself as well). But I guess, you also prefer to have a ready one, so I already made a complete set for all of us. LOL. Actually, my father-in-law has been asking for a personalized calendar for two years now. Poor me, I always give him other gifts when all he asks is this. I made a calendar for my sister-in-law (which he saw) two years ago and my FIL loves it. Unfortunately, I still don't have a scanner during that time. It's easier to make one for my SIL because all her photos in that calendar was taken using a digital camera. Now, with a scanner and this calendar set, I have no more excuses. Papa will surely have his calendar this Christmas.

My First Book of Colors (QPs with a Twist) and a QP Freebie

So, here's the second QP set for October called "My First Book on Colors: I can Tell Colors" I love this one. I didn't know I love colors so much until I found myself looking at this QP set over and over again.

They say black and white are not colors but I have included them here since whenever we buy crayons they are always included in the box. Besides, pre-school teachers and parents also teach children to identify black and white. And yes, I guess, colors are not complete without them.

I don't know how you will fill-in the pictures but I guess it will be cute if your child's dress will match the color of the page, like what I did for my niece, LOL.

By the way, if you will notice on the preview, the upper right part of the QP have some space where you can place your own colored elements. You can also put there the crayons (which I used in the LO above) which is already included in the download. So here they are...

My First Book of Numbers (QPs with a Twist) and a QP Freebie

This is supposedly posted earlier but I'm having problems uploading at 4shared. It's already been three days since I was trying to upload the QP sets but it seems the only time 4shared is allowing me to upload without error is after midnight here--weird!

Adding insult to injury, my pc is experiencing some problem, it would automatically shut down. DH calls it "blue screen of death". He examined it and says there's already a problem with the motherboard. So, please bear with me if I won't be able to post for the next couple of days. I'll try to burn/back-up my files first so that I won't have any regret if something happens to my pc.

The other QP set is not yet uploaded, too bad as I would want that to go with this one. This one is "My First Book of Numbers", the other one is "My First Book of Colors" and there's also "My First Book of Shapes" for one of November's QP Set. I'll post them as soon as I'm able to upload them at 4shared. They are 12"x12" in size but I guess if you are going to make it into a photobook, 8"x8" is the best size (you can resize it, anyway) as the book will not be too big for a toddler/pre-schooler to hold.

"Roots & Wings" Heritage Kit and a Sampler Freebie

This is a dream kit. I was supposed to give this out in December as I know it will take time to do the pedigrees. But when my grandmother died last week, I was inspired to just work on it. You see, after graduating from college (more than a decade ago), my grandmother drew our family tree. I was once part of a journal/magazine publication when I was in college and she knew I can do a layout of it. She actually wanted to make a heritage book and distribute it to all my relatives. I asked for quotations for the printing but it's so expensive and I don't think we have the money for this project. But she said she would sell one of the family lands just to have this book printed. Anyway, years, passed by and soon she became too weak and sickly to work on this with me. I also became busy with my work and career.

But I did made a layout of our geneology seven years ago ( I made that in Adobe pagemaker) since I needed that for one of my subject when I enrolled for the Master in Family Life and Child Development course.

Last year, when I started doing digital scrapbooking, I made a better layout of it. I intend to complete the layout this December and give it to my grandmother this coming Christmas. My layout looks like a QP now, it has lots of blank slots for photos which I intend to get from my Lola (grandma) this November as I come home for All Saints Day. I'm planning to scan those photos to for my project. Anyway, during my grandma's wake, I asked my uncle if he knows where my grandmother put those pictures. But he said, grandma tear those photographs one day. We didn't know what got into her head that she did that--was it demetia? All those pictures where precious to her; I can't imagine her doing that. She used to show them to me whenever I visited her. In fact, she has already given some of those photos to me. But since I didn't have a scanner during that time, I returned it to her because I know she'll missed looking at them. Now, they're all gone...I hope there are some more left in her things. My uncle and his family will still look into her things now.

Anyway, my uncle said, maybe she felt bad that I returned the photos and she thought I'm no longer interested in making that long time dream project of my grandma. Oh well, I actually have some colored photopies of those pictures which I put in my project (it's cheaper than to pay for scanning during that time). I guess, I will just have to scan those photocopied photos again eventhought the quality will not be as good as the scanned ones.

I know all of you will benefit from this kit, as all of us has a family tree to make/scrap. I guess, it's every scrapper's (whether paper or digital) dream to make a heritage project/book. Since it is easy to print/have a photobook nowadays, it won't cost so much to have a Heritage Book which every family member who would want to have a copy can also have one. So, here's your kit.

I called it "Roots and Wings" from a quotation written by Hodding S: There are only two bequests we can give our children--one is roots, and the other, wings.

I have included separate nameplates and chrome connectors in the download so that you can make your own pedigree even if you have no available photos of your ancestors. Well, that's my case, I have no available pictures of my great great grandparents. Anyway, here's the preview of some pedigrees. There are ten sets of pedigree with parents and ten individual sets with separate one for parents and siblings which is ideal for blended or step families.

Now, I would like to share with you some pointers that I personally do with my geneology layouts. If you will notice the samples below, the first one on the left does not have drop shadow or outer glow. They do not pop-out. Now, I put outer glow in the middle and a drop shadow on the last set. However, if you will notice there are also drop shadow and outer glow inside the photo frames' rim (Oh! I don't know if I'm making sense in my explation, but I hope you might get something from it, LOL--I'll try my best to explain it well).

Now, look at what I did with my layout (see LO below). I actually made a separate file for the pedigree with the picture of me and my parents (look at my photo when I was a child--I look like a boy, LOL). Then, I copy merged and paste it on the layout page below. Since all the elements, texts and the photos are already merged, when I put drop shadow and outer glow (yes, I put both) in it, it no longer have that untidy shadow/glow on the inside rim.

One more thing, if you looked at my parents photos above, they are both in sepia tone but the lighting (is it the lighting?) are different. I tried converting several photos with different tones to make them uniformed but maybe I wasn't that good in mixing colors, levels, etc. But I discovered something that worked for me. What I did here is that I made an oval shape with brownish tint. Copy merged it, paste and then, I placed one at the back of each photo (send to back). Then, I press "shift +" and the photo blended with the background color. I also did that to my own photo, that's why when you look at my layout below, all three pictures have the same tone now. Sometimes, you just have to play with or adjust the levels.

I hope, you got something from that "how-to" sort of thing. I'm not really good in tutorials. Anyway, here's a sampler for everyone.

Dress-up your Teddy Bear

I have a special something for you. Nope, this is not your kit for the week, these are just Teddy Bears which you can dress-up. I made them for my ADSD Sugar Shoppe Kit.

I thought of giving this set for magicmaker-scraps members since I posted the Sugar Shoppe Kit but I wasn't able to do so on that day until I got busy and have forgotten about it, LOL. Then, as I was reading the comments at 4shared last night for Sugar Shoppe kit, I remembered about this and so I worked on this set and turned them into png files this morning.

I don't know if any of you (magicmaker-scraps members) here are making digiscrapping kits, but I'm going to work on making the layered Teddy Bears available as commercial use item so that you can use them in making digital scrapbooking kits. I will just change the eyes of the Teddy Bear since the button I used for these Teddy Bears are from Netta's Commercial Use products. I'll make my own so that I can offer them as CU items. Since they will be in layered form or separate PNG files, you can also use your own button for the eyes or maybe use googly eyes--Deb (thescrappincop) has one on her blog available as CU items as well.

Lindsay told me in an email that she was inspired with my glittered castle so she made her own castle out of my castle and included it in a beautiful kit. "All That Glitters" Kit and a Sampler Freebie

I'll be using this set for a bragbook that contains all the wedding is our family (including cousin)...altered art style! That means a lot of extractions for me to do, LOL. And that also means I'll have extra set for you as well.

Here's a sample layout for our very own wedding. It was taken indoor--I was married in an auditorium--but look how the borders transformed the setting. You can put any background you like and make it as a wedding thank you card too (I used a background from designeverafter).

These "Photo Cluster Borders" are not originally included in the set that I will do for magicmaker-scraps members. However, I noticed that this is the hype in the digital scrapbooking world nowadays and I want my members to be updated, hehehe. It's like my cluster borders but you can insert your pictures in here. They are very much like a QP but it's very versatile--you can add additional elements/embellishments; paper/background of your choice; and you can resize them from 12 inches (yes!) to other sizes without any cropping.

I'll also make the frames in two orientation: landscape and portrait so that you can insert with ease your photo whatever orientation it was originally shot. So, here's your first set, there's a freebie at the bottom and you can download that too:

"Slumber Party" Kit and a Sampler Freebie

Why is there a kit here? I have so many commercial use items that I bought; downloaded as freebies; templates that I made digitally during my spare time or stuffs that I have photographed and extracted. As you have read in my first entry, those items that I photographed and extracted were the reasons why Magicmaker-Scraps is born.

When I started Magicmaker-Scraps Club about two weeks ago, I thought I would only give you "QPs with a Twist". My first reason is because that's how I started in digital scrapbooking and I thought that's what I do best. The second reason why I only settle for giving "QPs with a Twist" is that I am a CT to several designers and I rather have you buy kits from them, LOL.

Anyway, these last few weeks, I received invitations to sell in digi-scrapping stores. As I reads the terms, I wasn't sure if I will be able to come up with the number of kits required per month. During that time, I'm still finishing Cinder's Wish and I still don't know if I will be able to finish it that week. I've also started my part for ADSDesigners Collab kit for October (both are already done now) and I don't think I can meet the requirements if I will have deadlines. Every month, I also join KimB's Color Challenge at DSO, hence, I have two sure kits in my hands monthly. However, there are times that I'm uneasy as some ideas for digiscrapping kits come to mind--so I have to work on it. So, this month, I have done several kits. I have so many freebie kits already (LOL) so, I just decided to give the others exclusively for Magicmaker-Scraps members only. Last night, I sent a preview of the kit to members and asked them if they are willing to swap one QP set to a kit and early this morning as I wake up, more than half of them have already replied "yes"--hence, I already have a consensus. I didn't expect for the reply to come that quick so I gave them until Saturday to decide. I guess, they all got excited when they saw the kit so they promply replied.

I guess, two kits per month won't hurt, so here's the first one it's called "Slumber Party".

I was reading an old issue of Family Circle this week and I've already read most of the articles in it except the Slumber Party Tips for Parents. You see, I've never experienced joining one in my childhood--it's not popular or should I say, we never do that here in the Philippines. Not that I didn't sleep over my friends house when I was a teen-ager but mostly, I slept there because my school was far away from home and I have no transportation going back home. So, if there are school activities that will go beyond 6:00 p.m. that means I have to ask a classmate who lives nearby if I could stay at their place. You see, I'm a barrio girl.

Anyway, going back to the article, since I have nothing more to read (LOL) I read it and I found it so exciting. I've watched some american movies/series showing teenagers spending slumber parties but in the articles it tackles one for those ages 7-10. Sorry, but I didn't know that slumber party is also popular for younger girls too. Maybe, that's the reason why the article was written because it is quite a responsibility for the host to take care of several kids in one roof overnight. I enjoyed the article so much and I was so engrossed with it that's why I thought of making a kit. I haven't seen a kit about "Slumber Parties" or maybe there are several kits that I haven't seen. I guess, if your little girl has attended one and she has a picture of that, you will be able to use this. If not, the kit can be generic and all the papers and elements can be used for other girly layouts as well.

The kit's elements are at 300 DPI and the paper size is 12x12 also at 300 DPI.

Cluster Borders Extra

I have extra Cluster Borders for you. I hope you will be able to use them too. The fairytale one can be used for wedding invitation cover which I did for my friends. The invitation was a gift for my friends who got married and I know they will be delighted to have the design be shared to others. The one with the cottage is something I made and I love it so much but I don't know in which layout they may be appropriate, so I hope you'll be able to use them in one of your projects. These are "extras". I'll give you the second set on October.

The photos were taken by Lani, the groom's sister, and she only used point and shoot digital camera for this one. I guess, the photos are great and complemented the cluster border very well.

Now, here are your extra cluster borders. I hope one of you can send me a project/layout using these cluster borders. I would love to see what you have made out of these stuffs.

A Woman's World (QPs with a Twist) and a QP Freebie

Here's the counterpart of "About a Man" and it's called "A Woman's World". If you've seen the "midwife" and "civic volunteer" titles on the preview, don't be dismayed, it's only for preview purposes. I was thinking of my Mom when I made that preview--she's a midwife and yes, she loves to volunteer for civic works and cooperatives. In fact, my parents met through the red cross. The original QPs don't have those titles. However, you'll have a separate download folder for different titles that you may put in those pages. I still have to upload the bonus QPs (back cover) as well as the "titles" folder for this set. DH and I are going to the province to visit his parents in a little while and I just asked him if I can upload the set and post it here first. We'll be back tomorrow and I'll upload the rest.

Meanwhile, enjoy "A Woman's World" QP set as this is especially for us, women--so far, it's my favorite among the QP sets that I have made. I love all the laces, flowers, ribbons and other embellishments. "About A Man" is the most difficult QP set I've ever done. In fact, I had doubts in the beginning if I would be able to complete the set since it's so difficult to find a man's kit. I thank God that it's already done and this next set (A Woman's World) was just so easy to do since there are a lot of kits and commercial use items that I can use for this.

Well, now we both have a storybook to give to your parents for Christmas. My Mom will surely love this one. I'm going to print it in either 8"x8" or 6"x6" (I will just resize them) bragbook so that it can fit in a bag. Knowing my mother, she always brings my layouts whenever she goes and she always shows them to everyone, LOL--even to those whom she had just met. Well, that's why it's called a bragbook. I'll take a picture of that bragbook and post it here once it's done. It takes more than a week to bind them. I would want to make the one for my Dad too (he's gone now) but I still have to find some pictures of him with his parents and siblings.

About a Man (QPs with a Twist) and a Freebie

The first set of QP for September is called About a Man. My Dad was on my mind as I made this set. Since he is already gone, I thought of making a storybook/bragbook about him so that the next generation will have a knowledge of the grandfather that they never have the chance to meet.

This set is intended for the men in our lives with the different roles they play on each page. It's great as a birthday gift to that man you love so much. If you see a page in the preview that have "game master" and "engineer" on it, don't be sad, as the QP do not have those titles on them (it's only for preview purposes) but included in the download is a set of titles professions for you to choose the title to put in those QPs. If I have missed a title/profession in the list or you want me to add a title, please email me and I would be glad to make it (for members only). Cluster Borders Set 1

What are "Cluster Borders"? As joined several tubes membership these last few months, I fell in-love with those lovely tubes. I intend to use them in making QPs but I realized that the filesizes/images are not as big as those of the digital scrapping kits and they seemed to dwarfed when I put them in 12x12 QPs. I don't want to resize them because they may become pixelated.

So, I just thought of using them in making cards and invitations. I like the outcome of my first project with my Cluster Borders" and I told myself: why not offer these as well for my club members. Aside from cards and invitations, these “Cluster Borders” are also ideal for bookmarks, desk calendars, calling cards, stationeries, photo art, digital layouts, web designs, and other hybrid projects, etc. These are scraps-for-hire/others friendly.

The width of each “Cluster Borders” is 7 inches only. very much suited for a 5"x"7 project intended for printing. You can also resize it for a 4"x6" bragbook. It is not suited for 12”x12” digital scrapbook projects intended for printing since I don’t want to stretch the sizes of the original graphics as they may affect the quality of the image when printed. However, they can be used for digital scrapbook layouts that are intended to be posted in galleries, blogs or websites. The can also be use as base for frames.

Here are some of the layouts that I made using the "Cluster Borders".

Baby Book Set and some QP Freebies

Presenting "QPs with a Twist". As some of you know, I've been making QPs for sometime now and since there are a lot of QPs everywhere, I thought of making something that you can only buy here (for now, I don't know maybe after a week or so, similar QPs will be available somewhere, LOL). But then, this is where you'll first see something like this.

My first three sets of "QPs with a Twist" have a "Baby's Book" theme. I'm always fascinated with Baby Diary. I would want one for my own children and for myself. Unfortunately, I don't have a baby book and so were my other siblings. But I will still make one for myself (LOL), I'll just include the information that I can get from my birth certificate and some other records. Anyway, the concept of this set came when I thought of giving a storybook-type album to my newborn niece. (I have an entry of that in my other blog which you can see here)

You can use these sets for your self, spouse (it's never too late, don't you thinks so) and for your children, nieces, nephews, godchildren, etc. One good thing about QPs is that you can use them to make several layouts. By just changing pictures and journaling, the layout can become an entirely new page. Go ahead and use them 100 times for all your loved-ones, LOL.

"QPs with a Twist" are 12x12 in size at 300 dpi. You can resize them 10"x10", 8"x8" and 6"x6" sizes. You can also print several copies of your project (one for yourself, two for the grandmas and one as gift for you child when s/he's about to leave the nest). Every set has two bonus QPs which you will not see in the preview. That's my little surprise/gift for you.

I used several kits from different designers and tube elements from different artist for the pages making this QP sets unique (see rightside sidebar and click the blinkie to go to the designer's websites).

I know you will be tempted to use these QP sets as a gift to your niece or your friend or pastor's newborn baby. In that case, it will no longer be for personal use--that's Scrapping for Others (S4O). Then maybe your neighbor or churchmate will see your personalized baby book and he/she doesn't know how to use the program to make such project. So, you will be asked to do one for his/her child/niece/godchild/grandchildren. And yes, you will be paid for it--that's Scrapping for Hire (S4H). To solve that problem, these QP sets are S4H/S4O friendly.

It's a good thing, the commercial use kits and tubes that I used in these sets do not restrict them. In the first place, I won't join the club or bought the items unless I can use them for this purpose. This has been a very generous offer so please do not share the link and password as well as the entire QP Sets to other digi-scrappers you know, tell them to buy their own set. I paid membership fees to several digiscrapping and tube artists clubs as well as bought commercial use items for my QPs, so please be kind and honest enough to respect my simple request. If you do not agree with this initial term, then, please don't buy. My previous works (element freebie, etc. has been pirated before. I just kept quiet about it and just wrote to 4shared. Some also shared the links and the password to things to some items that I'm selling. I feel so bad about it as I always give freebies but there are people who abuse others.)

So, what's this all about?

First things first...

August 8, 2008 or 08-08-08 will mark the opening of Beijing Olympics. Watching the Olympic opening or closing ceremony is one of my dreams. Another dream that I have in my heart is to be able to see the Seven Wonders of the World--The Great Wall of China is on top of the list. So, imagine how much I desire to be in Beijing on that date--it's like shooting two birds at the same time.

Last year, I told my husband about it, since it's our anniversary week and he usually treat me with an out-of-town trip I gave him the option. He's been to China several times--Nanjing, Shanghai, etc. but never to Beijing. DH wants to fulfill my dream but he would not be able to arrange the trip. He said he'll just shoulder the expenses and I have to do the rest--contact the travel agency, arrange accommodation though RCI, and other options, plane ticket and yes, renew my passport that expired late last year. It seemed like I have a lot of thing to do but it's a once-in-a-lifetime event in my life so I'm willing to hurdle everything--opppsss. But then so many things happened and I wasn't able to arrange the trip--and when I thought I'm ready for the trip, it's already too late. It was only last week that I was able to renew my passport. My heart still aches for I wouldn't be at the Beijing Olympics on 08-08-08 but DH always console me by saying some athletes have even back-out because Beijing is so polluted and they are more concern of their health.

Next in line...

Last year, my party shoppe closed down because I wasn't able to attend to it personally. It's in our province and 100 km away from where we're staying. I was really wondering how I was able to manage it for two years going there as often as I can. It broke my heart to let it go but then I have more important things to attend to, I have no choice but to give it up. That's when I discovered digital scrapbooking.

I used to make layouts before but there was no elements in them, they are mostly collage or "book-style" layouts. Early this year after making so many QPs for Netta, I thought I wanted to try something new, so I bought my first commercial use bundle from Netta's CVDs at scrap-n-tag, then I bought one after another from different stores. A month passed by and I still couldn't squeeze in my head what theme I would want to work on. I would want to make a teddy bear kit because it's one item that I love to collect. I also wanted to make a wedding kit but I've never seen commercial use stuffs to include in it such as ring, bouquet, etc. Since we sometimes cover weddings as hobbyist photographers, I extracted one from our personal stock photos. Then, after going to the beach, I thought of a beach kit. I love cooking too, so I shifted to start a kitchen stuffs kit. But instead of buying CU items, I just decided to use my DSLR, take photos and extract the items that I would be needing. Soon there were so many extracted items that have been gathering cobwebs and dust in my hard drive and I just don't have complete a kit. Everything were just bits and pieces of something.

Now, it begins...

Last May, two things came to my mind, after buying a grab bag and I still cant finish a complete kit, I just decided it's time to limit buying them. Then, I thought would just pack the items that I extracted and sell them for commercial use. I guess, established designers and those who are more creative will be able to use them magnificently in their kits. So aside from those numerous extracted stuffs, I thought I would extract some more. I noticed that I don't have flowers in my stuffs. I looked at our photos and I saw this folder with some plants and flowers taken by either my sister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, and DH. There were also some photos of different things in another folder. DH was the first one to own a digital camera in the family (six years ago) and everybody wanted to play with it, that's why we have a lot photos of inanimate objects. Also, when my sister moved to a far away province, she would ask me to buy her Christmas gifts for her inaanak (godchildren) and our nieces. Then, I would photographed each gift and email to her so that she will have an idea what I bought/gave to her inaanak. So, that's where all photos of the inanimate objects came about. I put these thing in a separate folder because I don't want to delete them but I don't think I would want to print them nor mix them up with my other photos either. I'm not really into flower-landscape-nature-object photography. I love portaits, I like capturing a person's expression more than mother nature's granduer. I want people...person...human being. Little did I realize that someday I will be able to use them...and yup, you'll see those scraps here.

Last June, I decided that I will offer them as CU items in my other blog and the release date will be the 4th day of July. I'm in the Philipppines and I would want to have that date memorable for me, LOL. If not for independence day, at least for the release of my first stuffs to be sold. But though the items were already extracted in June, I still have to package them and my mind was still hazy which one to include. I also have no idea how much it will cost and how many items will I put in that bundle. June became a busy month too. My niece was about to be dedicated, the other one celebrating her first birthday, then another will be seven years old. So what's my role in these events? As usual, I made the layouts for the invitations and tarpaulins, prepared the sourvenirs, etc. I was also the one who have them printed in commercial shoppes; send these items through door-to-door delivery (as they all live in the provinces). My sister is 12-hours drive away. Sometimes, I wish I have a personal assistant to do those stuffs for me, ROFL. Then a regular customer of my closed party needs shoppe requested me to cover her son's wedding. I could not say no because she has become a friend too. July was already fast approaching and I was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to attend to this matter. But DH said: "no one is pressuring you, no need to rush. Take your time, only you and I know about your July 4th plan."

So I covered my other niece's 7th birthday last July 5, the wedding last July 12 (I had the pre-nup photo-op alone prior to that event since DH was in Qatar at that time. I did a two-song audio visual presentation (AVP) for the reception). Afterwards, my mind is set to plan on this stuff.

Putting the pieces together...

Two weeks ago, when I was finally accepted the fact that we'll not gonna make it to Beijing this August, I just thought of doing something memorable because I'm sure I'll really cry on that day. Lightbulb Moment...tingggg! The "888" idea came along. I'll make that day memorable by offering 88 (I can't make 888 items at this time, LOL) Commercial Use items for $8.88 on 08-08-08. Oh well, Ecclesiastes 3: 1 is very real to me at this time..."There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." (And I'm still looking forward seeing the Great Wall of China and watch an Olympic game someday).

By the way, my passport is scheduled to be delivered on 08-08-08 too.

8 Commercial Use Templates

I just started making templates. They are all layered PSD files and png files so that you may be able to use them in other programs. You may recolor them to suit your taste. I really would want to have a castle template--this one is loosely based on the Enchanted Kingdom (EK) entrance gate since I will add them in my layouts. Going to EK has become a yearly tradition to our family (cousins included) every December 31st.

The other templates are something that I thought you might be able to use so I included a stroller-baby kit, car-for boys' kit, bag-girls' kit and the cake-for party kits. The box and the book are my generic elements which you can use in any layout. The ferris wheel is a dream template come true, I gave a ferris wheel with frames to my Mom with our pictures in it and everybody loves it and I guess you may want it too. There's a separate frame only file, just in case, you don't want the heart frames, you may want to have stars, squares or round frames to replace the hearts. I guess, I've never seen them anywhere else.
